Hi.
I live in Adelaide, South Australia, and my mystery suspense thrillers - Lethal Legacy and Deadly Secrets - are dark mysteries with a dash of political intrigue, a sprinkling of organized crime and corruption, and mature amateur women sleuths.
My short stories have been published in Australia, the UK, Canadian, and the US.
My public service career with roles as diverse as Management Trainer, Team Facilitator, Statistician, and Laboratory assistant followed my teen jobs of retail assistant, babysitter, dog kennel employee, and worker in an electronic factory. These roles formed a good foundation for writing my kind of stories.
Early retirement provided the free head-space and time to concentrate on creative writing. I took a swathe of creative writing short courses and even completed a Graduate Certificate in Creative Writing from Adelaide University. That requires dedication and a thick skin (there was lots of feedback).
Growing up, I was more of a science nerd - my first degree is a Bachelor of Science (majoring in Chemistry), so writing novels and short stories was a new direction.
I still indulge in my other passions when I can. I love traveling, (places often inspire scene settings for my novels too). I also write a detailed travel journal and take copious photos. I'm also a live theatre buff, art lover, and of course, an avid reader.
